The new District Courthouse will replace the current facility, which has been in use for 35 years. The new structure will feature a 5-story, 158,000-square-foot courthouse, complete with secure detention areas accessible via the sheriff’s sally port, as well as courtrooms, jury assembly rooms, in-custody holding areas, county offices, and records storage. The building will be designed with separate access points for the public, the sheriff’s department, and judges or other elected officials to ensure security and efficiency.
